Cookie policy

auracheck.dev only uses what it needs to work: no advertising or tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie banner.

What we store in your browser

They are all our own, and all strictly necessary or set by your own choice: under the AEPD cookie guide they don’t need consent. We list them so you know what they are.

  • better-auth.session_token (cookie, 30 days): keeps you signed in. Only when you sign in.
  • better-auth.last_used_login_method (cookie, 6 months): shows “Last used” on the sign-in method you used before, so you don’t open a second account by mistake.
  • NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, 1 year): the language you picked with the EN/ES button. Only set when you choose one.
  • theme (local storage, no expiry): light or dark, when you pick one.
  • feedback-prompt (local storage, 7 or 30 days): remembers that you closed the “Suggest a feature” card, so it doesn't show again for a while. Only saved if you close it.

Analytics without cookies

We count visits with PostHog in cookieless mode: nothing is stored in your browser, there are no personal profiles or session recordings, and visitors are told apart with a hash that changes every day. The statistics are only used to improve auracheck.dev.

Sponsors and embeds

Sponsor slots are plain links: they don’t load scripts or set cookies. The profile widget you can embed on your own site sets no cookies either.

Removing them

You can delete these cookies and the local storage from your browser’s settings at any time; you’ll only be signed out and lose your language and theme choice. If we ever add a cookie that needs consent, we’ll ask first.

Pending legal review before launch.
